Hastings L. Hanshaw
Hastings Hanshaw is an experienced business litigation and trial lawyer. Hastings has a wide breadth of experience in complex litigation matters ranging from multi-million dollar oil and gas and healthcare litigation to extensive tort defense of non-subscriber cases and partnership, fiduciary, and employment litigation. He was named Top Employment Lawyer in Frisco by Expertise.com and has the distinguished ranking of a Super Lawyer in Texas by Thomson Reuters, placing him in the top 5% of lawyers in the state. In addition to State and Federal Courts across Texas, Hastings and his team have tried cases from Los Angeles, California, to Lake Charles, Louisiana, and are accomplished trial lawyers recognized for their tactical trial work and results-oriented client-first focus.
After earning his undergraduate degree from Baylor University and his law degree from the University of Arkansas, Hastings moved to Dallas and worked with Philadelphia-based Cozen O’Connor out of law school and boutique litigation firm, Travis and Thompson before founding Hanshaw Kennedy with a law school friend in 2004.
Hastings’ litigation and trial skills underpin his numerous court and arbitration victories and settlements for his business, employment, healthcare, non-subscriber, OSHA, and partnership and fiduciary litigation clients. Having secured tens of millions of dollars in victories on behalf of his clients and successfully litigated hundreds of cases for companies and individuals alike over the years, Hastings is particularly well-suited to the complex “must-win” cases that are sometimes unavoidable in business.
When Hastings is not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his four kids, hiking, fishing, and is an avid Arkansas Razorbacks and Baylor Bears fan. He has traveled and contributed to humanitarian projects in 3rd-world countries and serves on various boards for missions in his community.
