After earning his undergraduate degree from Baylor University and his law degree from the University of Arkansas, Hastings moved to Dallas and worked with Philadelphia-based Cozen O’Connor and boutique litigation firm, Travis and Thompson before founding Hanshaw Kennedy with a law school friend in 2004.
Hastings’ vast experience has garnered numerous court and arbitration victories and settlements for his business, employment, non-subscriber, OSHA and estate litigation clients. Hastings’ diverse experience and tactical approach for his clients over more than 20 years’ of legal practice, has equipped him with a unique, results-focused outlook on each case he takes. Having secured victories of tens of millions of dollars on behalf of his clients, and having successfully litigated hundreds of cases for companies and individuals alike over the years, Hastings is particularly well-suited to the complex “must win” cases that are sometimes unavoidable in business. Hastings has tried cases all across Texas and neighboring states and in venues as far away as California.
When Hastings is not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his four kids, hiking, fishing and is an avid Arkansas Razorbacks and Baylor Bears fan. He has traveled and contributed to humanitarian projects in 3rd world countries, and participates and serves on various boards for missions in his community.
