Lauren Slaughter
Lauren is a caring and determined attorney practicing primarily in Business Law. She is committed to understanding her clients’ unique business goals and providing strategic legal guidance that supports their long-term success.
Lauren’s path to law reflects her diverse professional background and commitment to continuous growth. She began her career as a third-grade teacher before earning her MBA and ultimately pursuing her J.D. at SMU Dedman School of Law. During law school, Lauren competed on the ALA Moot Court Team and served as an Articles Editor for the SMU Science and Technology Law Review. She interned for Justice Garcia on the Fifth District Court of Appeals—an experience that provided her with meaningful insight into the judiciary and the appellate process. She also served on the Board of the Disability Law Society, reflecting her commitment to expanding legal access and representation.
Lauren joined Hanshaw Kennedy Hafen, LLP in 2025. Beyond her legal practice, she enjoys reading, hosting game nights, and spending time with her husband, three daughters, and golden retriever, Maple.
